Professor Thorsten Wagner is a German-Danish historian, born and raised in Sønderborg, Denmark, and living in Berlin since 1993. He studied in Tübingen, Berlin, and Jerusalem. After having been a docent at the Jewish Museum of Berlin and a research fellow at the Danish Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies, he has since 2008 been involved with research and teaching at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Since 2010, he holds a permanent position as Associate Professor at DIS, University of Copenhagen, and is European Director of FASPE (Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics), based in NYC. Professor Thorsten is the (co-) author of several books, has guided academic study tours to many European destinations, and currently also works as the historical consultant for an New York-based film crew producing a path-breaking documentary about the rebuilding of Jewish life in Germany since 1989.
