Cantorial Series: Cantor Gideon Zelermyer

Cantor Gideon Zelermyer is a graduate of the Tel Aviv Cantorial Institute, where he studied with Cantor Naftali Hershtik and Raymond Goldstein. Prior to his studies in Israel, he completed his undergraduate degree at George Washington University, where he performed a number of oratorios in the presence of President Bill and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton. He has officiated on numerous occasions at Shabbat and festival services at the Jerusalem Great Synagogue, and has made frequent appearances as the soloist with the Jerusalem Great Synagogue Choir. He has appeared with Boris Brott and the McGill Chamber Orchestra. Since 2004, Cantor Zelermyer has been the Chazzan of Congregation Sha’ar Hashamayim, and has a series of recordings of that congregation.
